On the 18th July, 2011 RamaDBK participated as a sub-sponsor in a 400 persons lunch giving to people affected from the earthquake tsunami which hit the Northeast coast of Japan on the 11th March, 2011. This event was organized by the Machiya Japanese School which has been operating for over 15 years with volunteers teaching Japanese to foreigners in Japan.

The temporary housing project which is provided by the government for the Northeast Earthquake victims was located at Rikuzentakata-shi at Iwate prefecture.

The menu for the lunch consisted of Sri Lankan, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Philippine dishes. Staff from RamaDBK also took part in the volunteer efforts by preparing the meals.

Although the people living in the temporary houses experienced devastation from the earthquake tsunami, they were cheerful to try the food prepared by the foreigners and showed much appreciation.
