RamaDBK, one of the main exporters of used and new vehicles to Sri Lanka, is shipping thousands of cars to Hambantota port every year. The port of Hambantota was opened in year 2013 as a major infrastructure development project for the South of Sri Lanka. Many foreign companies participated to the construction of the port and several countries expressed their interest in developing ship building and repair activities in the new port. Finally, after a few years the port went under the control of China that is currently managing the activity in the port on the basis of a long time lease contract. Hambantota is the main port used for shipping vehicles from Japan to Sri Lanka by RORO (Roll On, Roll Off) shipment. This week, several officials from Hambantota port visited RamaDBK Headquarter office in Yokohama in order to meet RamaDBK president, Mr Jagath Ramanayake. They discussed about the projects of new development in the port in relation to the trade of vehicles, and they inquired about the satisfaction of RamaDBK president with the services offered by the port.
