Subaru has unveiled a completely redesigned Subaru Forester at the New York Auto Show beginning this week. This full model change is giving birth to the 5th generation of the Subaru Forester, the popular line of SUV manufactured from year 1997 until today. The new Forester is scheduled to be on sale in North America from Autumn 2018, in Japan and in the rest of the world in the beginning of year 2019.
Under the motto “Dynamic&Solid”, the new Forester, while still a compact SUV, is designed with much interior space for passengers. Cargo space at the rear is also larger, perfect for transporting leisure goods for families. The dashboard and the front of the cabin have been redesigned to be more comfortable for the driver while increasing the driving safety. The new Forester would be available in 9 different colors.
The car is powered by a 2.5 liters 4 cylinders inline direct injection engine. Depending on the terrain and the weather conditions, the “symetrical AWD” (All Wheel Drive) system of the Forester can be controlled with the X-Mode button situated in the middle to the left of the driver seat. With this new model, Subaru is also introducing for the first time its “Driver Monitor System”, an intelligent computer system to assist the driver.
