RamaDBK CEO, Mr Jagath Ramanayake, is appointed as President of the Sri Lanka Business Council in Japan.

Mr Jagath Ramanayake has set up his vehicle export company, Rama DBK ltd, in year 1988, and after 30 years, Rama DBK is one of the oldest companies settled by a Sri Lankan national in Japan. During all those years, Mr Ramanayake has also been actively involved in the development of the business and trade relationships between Japan and Sri Lanka, taking part in many professional associations and supporting many events. This December, Mr Jagath Ramanayake has been elected as the new President of the SLBCJ (Sri Lanka Business Council in Japan), a non-profit organization promoting business relations between Japan and Sri Lankan with the support of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan. A dinner has been held at the Sri Lankan Embassy after the General Assembly of the SLBCJ.

After being appointed, Mr Ramanayake has written a thanks message to the Sri Lankan Embassy and to the members of the SLBCJ :

“Dear all SLBCJ members, thank you for electing me as President of the Sri Lanka Business council in Japan. Me and my newly appointed committee will do our best for the SLBCJ in the coming years. I Would take this opportunity to thank His Excellency Mr Ganganath Dissanayake and Mr Samantha Wijesekara, Counsellor-Commercial, Sri Lanka Embassy, Tokyo, for the support given for the AGM and for the dinner in the evening. Also our past president of the SLBCJ Mr Prince Samuel and Mr. Kenichi Watanabe for the last two years. Regards,  Jagath Ramanayake”
