Japanese luxury manufacturer Lexus has topped the charts for the eleventh year in a row in J.D. Power’s annual vehicle ownership satisfaction survey.

Lexus IS achieved the highest overall score while the Lexus RX ranked at third

Brands and makes of cars were ranked on a 1000 point scale, with the Toyota-owned brand scoring 845 to beat fellow Japanese rival Honda scoring 833 points and European brands Skoda and Jaguar both scoring 825.

Mini was placed fifth, with a score of 822

In terms of models, Honda’s Jazz and Accord topped their respective classes (small and upper medium).

Lexus’s IS range topped the compact executive class, overcoming the likes of BMW’s 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The study that which was conducted in conjunction with UK magazine ‘What Car?’ also revealed that owners are becoming increasingly switched on to vehicle design and pay more attention to quality issues.

“It’s great news that people are more satisfied with their cars than ever, and it proves that car makers are getting things right more often,” said magazine editor Jim Holder.
