RamaDBK cooperated for VIAL Delegation Tour of Japan.

Vehicle Importers’ Association of Lanka (VIAL) has emerged as the leading vehicle importing body in Sri Lanka. The present membership stands over 280, catering to a large number of well recognized commercial entities, and to all classes of people in the country. VIAL membership comprises of corporate members, small and medium enterprises spread in most parts of the country.

The main purpose of the tour is to attend to the Business Conference, Tokyo Motor Show, visit to a Motor Car Auction House, Toyota Motor Company vehicle Assembly plant and to Yokohama Port to see the operations.

A total of 55 delegates comprise of members of the Association have visited Japan as scheduled. Mainly they visited Toyota – Motomachi factory to see how the vehicle assembly is doing inside the factory. And they visited the USS-Tokyo auction to get the overall knowledge of a vehicle auction.

Key event of the tour was to participate for the Business Conference that was organized by Sri Lanka Exporters Association in Japan (SLAEAJ), the association operating under the Sri Lanka embassy in Japan. RamaDBK president as well as SLAEAJ president Mr. Jagath Ramanayake made a speech and pointed out the current and historic friendly relationships between the two nations and emphasized the importance of having this summit in order to facilitate the export of high quality Japanese vehicles to Sri Lanka. He also expressed that this sort of dialogues between exporters and importers should continue at least annually, so that it would finally benefit all concerned in the industry.
