Mr. Kosala Perera – Chairman Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce Visited RamaDBK – Yokohama office during his visit to the 23rd Annual Conference (CACCI) held in Japan. Our president had time to discuss the problems of exporting vehicles to Colombo.

According to Mr. Kosala Perera the imports of Japanese vehicles to Sri Lanka has decreased by 90% during the past 6 months, The implement of very high import duty for used Japanese vehicles has caused this. He also pointed out the reliability of Japanese used vehicles & the huge contribution it had given Sri Lanka during the past 40 Years.
Japanese Vehicles are known to be high quality and affordable when compared with other foreign Vehicles around the world.

In this conversation both came to an understanding to contact the reverent departments in Sri Lanka and appeal to reduce the import duty & make easy for the customers to import vehicle to Sri Lanka. Also Mr. Perera promised that he will also try to take this matter to His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka for his consideration.
