The premier football club Yokohama F-Marinos started the J-League 2007/08 season with a gala dinner hosted by the club at Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel on 05th March 2007. The Dinner was attended by a large gathering consisting of the club members, sponsors, players, and also the die hard Yokohama Marino’s Fans. The gathering included our RamaDBK president Mr. Jagath C. Ramanayake who is a chief Sponsor and also an ardent fan of this Famous J-League club.
This years season was given the slogan “SCRAMBLE ATTACK” and will be captained by the National Team Defender Yuji Nakazawa who will be representing the club for the 7th consecutive year since starting in the 2002 season. The Team will be coached by ever reliable Mr. Hiroshi Hayano. The team became J-League champions for four times in 1995, 2000, 2003 and 2004.
The dinner was hosted by the President of YFM Mr. Shigeo Hidaritomo who welcomed the invitees and also pledged the toast for a brilliant season ahead. The speech was followed by ADIDAS Japan President, who being the main sponsor of the team. Soon after the speeches the YFM 2007/08 team members were introduced to the gathering and team were brought to the stage ushered by the club mascots MARINOS-KE and MARINOS-KUN. This was followed by dinner and the guests were given company with the team members who signed autographs and also posed for photographs. Post-dinner the captain Yuji Nakazawa delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the club members and thanked the sponsors, members, fans for rendering support to the team for the coming Season.
