The new Toyota Prius, the fourth generation model, is expected to go on sale in Japan at the end of 2015. The Prius has been the best selling hybrid vehicle worldwide since year 1997.
The new Prius will be exhibited for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show, from September 17th to September 27th in Germany, but Toyota has already disclosed some images and details about the car. The fourth-generation Prius is based on a new platform and the exterior design has been changed to give the car a more sporty shape. While the chassis is 60 percent more rigid than that of the former model, the overall weight of the car has been reduced. With a more efficient engine, the car will achieve 10 percent fuel economy in comparison to the current model.
