Japanese Prime Minister Abe with Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa

Japanese Prime Minister Abe has just finished a visit to Sri Lanka. It is the first visit of a Japanese prime minister to Colombo in 24 years. Mr Abe stressed during his speech before the press that is grand-father, Nobusuke Kishi, had also been the first Japanese prime minister to visit Sri Lanka. Mr Abe’s visit resulted in important maritime deals with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Since the end of the civil war 5 years ago and with political stability,  Sri Lanka has been developing rapidly. JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) released a report in 2013 encouraging Japanese companies to invest and to open manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka.

RamaDBK, a prominent exporter of new and second hand vehicles to Sri Lanka, is an enthusiastic support for stronger ties in trade between Japan and Sri Lanka.
