                RAMA DBK TO DOUBLE SALES TO MALTA AFTER MEETING WITH UVIA

A meeting was held at Kobe Harbor land New Otani Hotel between UVIA (Used Vehicle Importers Association - Malta) & the main Japanese used vehicle exporter registered with Malta authorities. http://www.uviamalta.com

Rama DBK is one of the key suppliers in Malta. As at 2005 the total average imports to Malta is 5197 vehicles and it was 5087 in 2004 and 5211 units in 2003.

President of Rama DBK Mr. Jagath Ramanayake invited to attend this event and engaged a fruitful discussions with Mr. Oliver Browirigg (President of UVIA), Mr. Ronnie Micallef (Treasure of UVIA) & Dr. Emmanuel Mallia (Secretary General - UVIA).

The discussion were focused on mutual understanding and current trends in the sector.The parties discussed in details the current problems faced by UVIA.
 

*EU Rule - Compliance. The compliance to follow when importing a vehicle from Japan and introduced 34   models of vehicle and details that available at UVIA
 

*The introduction of new SVA inspection system & JVIC system and possible obstruculs in exporting used cars from Japan
 

*The trade difficulties including ongoing heavy Metal problem in EU countries


Afterwards few presentation made by the UVIA and Rama DBK President made some important request and recommendations to the UVIA on behalf of the Exporters.
To implement SVA inspection system for Kanto region in Japan & other major ports including Yokohama and Kawasaki. As at now only office & inspectors are based in Nagoya

Due to this reason the exporters have to spend a quite a lot of money and & time to get the vehicles inspected.
This was highly taken by the UVIA delegation and informed the same would propose the SVA to consider this matter.
