The show will open to the public on
Saturday, October 25. This is the first passenger car and
motorcycle show to be put on by the Japan Automobile
Manufacturers Association since its merger with the Japan
Motor Industrial Federation. JAMA has formulated a new vision
for the motor show and has set its sights on becoming the
number-one show acknowledged internationally. It will be
drawing on the strengths engendered by the merger and the
strong track record of the show to:
- contribute to the development of the automotive industry
and the motorization of society, there lay continuing to
attract young people;
- lead the automotive industry worldwide; and
- establish its position as a forum for international
exchange among people in the automotive industry.

The 37th show will be marked by
stronger programs for the bilateral communication between
customers and manufacturers, a wide variety of symposiums
designed to appeal to everyone from experts to the general
public, and a number of special events, including test rides
of environment and safety-conscious cars. This will also be
the first time that JAMA has sought a wide range of corporate
sponsors in order to secure the resources for these programs
of the show. We will be updating information on the Tokyo
Motor Show web site as it becomes
available.
